Spicy Spanish Sardines

Makes 2 - 3 servings

Cooking Time 10 - 15 minutes


  • 500 g fettuccine pasta
  • 5 g toasted cashew nuts, chopped
  • 20 g basil, chiffonade
  • 10 ml olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 tbsp tequila
  • 5 ml lemon juice
  • To taste cayenne
  • To taste salt
  • To taste white pepper
  • For garnish basil leaves


  1. Cook fettuccine pasta as per manufacturer’s instructions. Set aside.
  2. Combine cashew nuts, basil, and olive oil in a bowl. Season to taste and set aside.
  3. In a frying pan, sauté garlic and 2 pieces of CDO SPANISH SARDINES in olive oil on low heat.
  4. Add in tequila, lemon juice, cayenne, and cashew-basil mixture. Add in cooked pasta and stir until well coated with sauce.
  5. Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with basil leaves.
