Spicy Beef Balls Caldereta

   For the meatball:

  • 1/4 cup Onions, minced
  • 1 tsp Garlic, minced
  • 1 cup Stale bread, diced
  • 1 pc Egg yolk
  • To Taste Salt
  • To Taste Pepper
  • As needed A.P Flour (for dredging)
  • As needed Vegetable oil (for frying)

   For the caldereta sauce:

  • 2 tsp Vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup Onion
  • 2 tsp Garlic 1/2 cup Bell pepper
  • 1 tsp Bird’s eye chili
  • 1/2 cup Tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Peanut butter
  • 1 cup Beef broth
  • 1 cup Potato (diced, boiled)
  • 1 cup Carrots (diced, boiled)
  • As needed Peas
  • To Taste Salt
  • To Taste Pepper


   For the meatballs:

  1. In a bowl, mix CDO HIGHLANDS PREMIUM BEEF PATTIES with the rest of the ingredients. Season with salt and pepper. Form into 30 grams (approx.) meat balls.
  2. Roll meat balls in flour.
  3. Heat up oil, deep-fry meat balls until brown. Set aside.

   For the caldereta sauce:

  1. Heat up oil, sauté onion, garlic, bell pepper, and chili.
  2. Add tomato paste, peanut, and sugar. Continue to sauté.
  3. Pour broth and let it simmer. Add meat balls and then reduce heat. Cook until sauce is slightly thick.
  4. Add the rest of ingredients. Season to taste.
  5. Serve hot.
